Tromsø

Wi-To Café & Bar

Always two different soups at WI-TO

Hot soups in a frozen Tromsø landscape

We serve hot soups that thaws the soul and make you feel as warm as the people of Tromsø  Take me here ASAP (map)

In Storgata (meaning “The big street”), the main street in Tromsø city center, next to the iconic Tromsø Cathedral, you’ll find Wi-To Café & Bar. Our small, historic tobacco kiosk opened in 1921, has become one of Tromsø’s most charming bar and lunch places. Locals and visitors alike gather here to enjoy hot drinks, good conversations and most importantly: the soup of the day. Every day, at least two different soups are on the menu, and the variety ensures that there is always something tempting, whether you’re in the mood for something mild, hearty, or a little spicy.

Soup of the day varies but one of our all time favourites is paprika soup, as well as onion and chicken soup. We like to surprise and the only guarantee it that our soups are super yummy and makes you feel hot 🔥 and comforting in snowy Tromsø. Always served with a nice piece of bread and butter.

Paprika soup at Wi-To cafe and bar

Even though soup plays the main role, Wi-To is known for much more. You can also enjoy Norwegian waffles, always freshly made and served with traditional toppings. And of course, a cup of coffee or tea fits perfectly on the side.

Heat up your body and soul with a soup in frozen Tromsø

For those who want to treat themselves a little extra, Wi-To is also a fully licensed bar. The selection includes good wines, local beers, and classic drinks, all served in a cozy atmosphere that works just as well for a quiet afternoon as it does for a social evening.

Cozy and warm near the Tromsø Cathedral

What truly makes Wi-To unique is the mix of people. Locals sit side by side with travelers who have wandered in from Storgata. Some come to warm up, others to get some work done, and many to enjoy something comforting and homemade.
